Matilda the Musical

I had seen Matilda the Musical a few years ago on Broadway and was excited that it was debuting in Philadelphia at The Walnut Street Theater. I was curious to compare, and it sure did not disappoint. The choreography and vocals were incredible!

I also had the pleasure of interviewing one of the lead actresses who portrays Matilda, Ellie Biron. Ellie is local to Philadelphia. She is in the 4th grade and does not find it hard balancing school and acting. She was a delight to talk to. She began her acting career last year when Annie was coming through town. The Walnut Street Theater was looking for roles and she found this opportunity for her first audition for her most beloved show. Ellie landed the role and the rest is history. Watching Ellie perform you can see why. She is a natural on the stage.

Besides her love for the theater Ellie also loves crafting jewelry and expressed her passion for drawing dresses.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is a heartwarming story of a little girl who wants to be loved. It is a great show for the whole family!
