Celebrating Lola’s Birthday turned out to be an ultimate girls weekend. With two car loads of girls we headed to Atlantic City to begin the Friday night festivities. I didn’t need to do much entertaining with views like this….
The Tropicana was our stomping ground for the weekend. I highly recommend it for families. There was so much to keep the little ones busy. Two pools on site, an indoor pool, which is great if you run into bad weather and an outdoor pool with music playing and food/drinks served on deck. Families could enjoy classic games such as cornhole, shuffleboard, ping pong and miniature golf. Food choices to please every palate we’re located in the main lobby. I chose to take the gang to Carmines. You can’t go wrong with Italian. Carmines is a family style restaurant which was great to feed a party of twelve. What a better way to end a Saturday night then eating ice cream on the boardwalk under a firework show!? Fireworks are every Saturday night at 10 pm until the end of the summer season. Lola is a huge lover of cotton candy. Which I thought would be fitting for this Boardwalk/Beach themed extravaganza. So, we decided to make cotton candy lollipops as party favors for her friends. I use a site “Nuts to You” to buy candy. They ship same day. There is no need to upgrade on shipping because you will literally get it the next day.
1 large tub of pink candy candy (Lola’s favorite color)
We added gold sprinkles for some extra glitz
clear plastic goody bags (Walmart)
gold tulle for bows
Lola’s cake request was probably the easiest thing I have ever made!
1 graham cracker pie crust
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Premade Toll House Tub)
1 can of each chocolate and vanilla icing (for decorating)
preheat oven to 325 degrees
spread cookie dough in the pie crust (use enough to cover the bottom and halfway to the top)
Bake for approximately 35 minutes
Serve with ice cream
A fun time was had by all!!
A good friend said to me, you know she will be thirteen next year?
